Mechanical Engineer
Engineering responsibilities for multiple pump design projects ranging from $25-120K for global customers in the power, oil & gas and industrial sectors. • Designed centrifugal pumps meeting API 610 & 682, ISO and ASME standards; • Developed solutions for new requests on a per-order basis. Processed customer orders accurately within a short timeframe and created standard documents; • Liaised with vendors. Reviewed and approved vendor drawings and provided fabrication/technical support; • Created equipment drawings, general arrangement and cross-sectional drawings for a mechanical manufacturing environment (AutoCAD). Worked within ePDM software to store and maintain drawings; • Prepared design calculations, FEA, vibration frequency estimation and GD&T to comply with API standards; • Completed: Standard BOM configurations from small weldments to multi-level assemblies, work orders for manufacturing, breakdown drawings of general parts, piping sys., design of custom parts and sub-assemblies; • Managed and checked over BOMs using AS400 system to create part numbers, BOM entry; • Participated in product development. Collaborated on design reviews and provided construction support for troubleshooting. Maintained project schedules and deliverables in conjunction with project management.

Product Developer (Mechanical Engineer)
Led numerous engineering projects. Responsibilities included: Full design life cycle of concept design, physical and mathematical modelling, simulations, detailed CAD design, testing and technical documentation. Projects included designs and development of: A vertical solar collector (water-filled fence) that acted as a hot water storage tank from conception through final recommendation. Implemented the theoretical layer model for radiation transmittance through a polymer film. Performed spectral analyses of transmitted solar radiation through unique decorated plastic. Innovative design increased the collection of solar energy drawing on VIS and IR spectral regions of solar radiation; • A parabolic solar reflector for greenhouse purposes that collected solar energy and directed it into the greenhouse using a sub-reflector. Developed a set of mathematical equations to write a computer program for solving the algorithm and simulating functioning with changing variables. Simulations enabled a proper analytical solution and a visual interpretation; • A turbo brush (turbo nozzle) for a vacuum cleaner with a high bypass clean air turbine system for driving small machinery (brush). Determined the optimal speed with a high power of rotation (torque). Whereby, the final product included a more powerful turbine system, gear, brush and nozzle which functioned more efficiently than that of the competitors. Received a patent for the design of an altered turbine; • A turnkey chicken coop for personal use to produce organic eggs at an economical price. Created an HVAC system with solar thermal heating, cooling and water circulation that controlled ambient internal temperature; • Wrote technical reports and performed energy saving calculations. Calculated cost estimates and collaborated with other engineering departments.

Mechanical Engineer
Performed static and dynamic structural analysis (FEA) for vertical centrifugal pumps. Integrated a new block of engineering calculations with reasonable assumptions into the company’s internal-use software. • Implemented hydrodynamic bearings under the impellers of vertical centrifugal pumps in order to reduce the appearing deflection of step-design shafts; • Prepared Fluid Mechanics calculations for hydrodynamic bearings in order to estimate losses due to friction in turbulent/laminar environment(s).
