OVERVIEW:

EMC RecoverPoint is a world leader in enterprise-class data replication and data protection software. RecoverPoint Engineering is extending its operations to Russia EMC COE. We are looking for a world-class Software Engineering Manager to lead this extension. The RecoverPoint extension in Russia EMC COE will perform both Development and QA activities, and will be working tightly with the corresponding teams in Ramat-Gan, Israel.

The software engineering manager will manage several Development and QA teams the total size of which may reach up to a total of 20 Development and QA engineers. This group will be focusing in the areas of Automated Testing tools, System Control, and Replication Data Path (including optimization and profiling),

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for developing work plans, assigning tasks, and managing teams and individuals.
• Develops solutions to difficult problems, which may require ingenuity and creativity.
• Builds a strong technical team and provides technical training in the relevant areas
• Provides professional mentorship and guidance to his subordinates.
• Collaborates with corresponding Engineering teams in Israel.
• Monitors the completion of tasks within time constraints and ensures that technical and functional objectives are met.
  
  

SKILLS:

• Proven technical leader – At least 8 years of experience as a software developer and SW Development team leader or manager.
• Hands-on experience in C/C++ and Java, preferably on Linux systems
• Previous hands-on experience with multi-threaded, distributed software design, development and testing.
• Strong software design capabilities, able to analyze and design complex systems / algorithms.
• Experience in working in a multi-cultural, distributed SW Engineering team.
• Excellent communication skills. Fluent in English, in both conversation and reading/writing.
• Strong Interpersonal skills.
• Strong Project management skills.
• Experienced in Software Development Life Cycle, including Design, Development and Testing.
• Relevant academic background.
• Background in IT infrastructures domain, and Storage in particular is a major plus.
